Wo die Irren flirren – F. K. Waechter und Tex Rubinowitz
Description
As co-founder of the satirical magazine ‘Titanic’ and a leading member of the ‘Neue Frankfurter Schule’, F. K. Waechter etched himself into the collective memory with his anarchic wit and quirky nonsense. The fine line of Tex Rubinowitz's drawings makes their comical, bizarre and quirky humour appear as if scribbled on, yet they do not lose their existential, almost metaphysical existence.
Waechter and Rubinowitz are presented in two exhibitions and united in a catalogue, which now also haptically unites their artistic affinity in their exploration of human abysses, their desire to exaggerate and highlight inconspicuous things and moments.
This book accompanies two exhibitions at the Wilhelm Busch Museum Hannover: Wo die Irren Flirren and Kartoffeln machen Druck von unten (24.05.2025-14.09.2025).
