The draftsman and caricaturist Frank Hoppmann was born in Lingen/Ems in 1975 and studied design with a focus on drawing, illustration and printmaking at Münster University of Applied Sciences. To this day he lives and works in Münster.
Hoppmann has reoccurring national and international exhibitions, e.g. at the Tomi Ungerer Museum – International Center for Illustration in Strasbourg. He has won many awards – 2005 e.o.plauen-Förderpreis, deutscher Karikaturenpreis, 2017 Merit Award from 3x3 magazine, New York for the portrait Donald Trump in the LOS ANGELES TIMES or 2020 overall winner and first place in the portrait section of the WorldPressCartoon in Lisbon. For 10 years Hoppmann drew for ROLLING STONE and DIE WELT. His portraits have an enormous expressiveness and are characterized by unique lines, which Oliver Maria Schmitt puts in a nutshell: »Frank Hoppmann is ›Lord of the Lines‹.«
